Job summary

American Red Cross in Portland, ME is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech II to maintain facilities and a fleet across three sites. Under general supervision, you will perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and related tasks, and support volunteers.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience, a valid driver’s license and the ability to work on a team, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Skills & Abilities: Valid driver's license and clean DMV record; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication; ability to work on a team; on-call duties possible.
• Travel: Will drive to other locations; valid license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties; patch holes, repair floors, paint, install minor electrical/plumbing/carpentry work.
• Estimate time and materials, requisition supplies.
• Move and store furniture; operate and service boilers, chillers and motors.
• Comply with safety procedures and regulations.
