Job summary

The American Red Cross in Portland, ME is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech to maintain and repair facilities and vehicles across three sites. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks, keeping 17 fleet vehicles in service while following safety procedures.

We offer a 40-hour workweek, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, on-call duties, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus with up to $8,000/year on-call pay. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent is required.
• Experience: minimum 3 years in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry or electrical work.
• Valid driver's license with clean DMV record; may require vehicle travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and properties with routine tasks; patch holes, repair floors, paint structures.
• Install and service boilers, chillers, motors, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
• Move and store furniture; estimate time and material costs; requisition supplies.
• Drive vehicles to other locations; follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
