Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech for our Portland Red Cross Blood Center in Portland, ME. Under general supervision, you will perform repairs and maintenance across facilities and equipment, supporting a fleet of 17 vehicles across three facilities.

This hands-on role demands a High School diploma, 3+ years of maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
• Skills & Abilities: Valid driver's license and clean DMV record; good verbal and written communication; ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance in facilities, machinery and equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair using hand and power tools.
• Provide support and leadership to volunteers.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
