Job summary

The American Red Cross in Portland, ME is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech to support a 17-vehicle fleet across 3 facilities and maintain the organization’s properties. The role requires a valid driver’s license and hands-on skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.

You will perform routine inspections, repairs and routine maintenance, while complying with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience with painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
• Skills & Abilities: Valid driver's license and clean DMV record; good interpersonal, verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair organization facilities and properties including patching, concrete work, painting, and electrical/plumbing repairs.
• Operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, pumps and related equipment.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed; estimate time and material costs; requisition supplies.
