Job summary

American Red Cross is hiring a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech for our Portland Red Cross Blood Center in Portland, ME. The role involves maintaining and repairing facilities, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, and supporting a fleet of 17 vehicles across three sites.

We seek candidates with at least 3 years of related experience and a valid driver's license. The job offers a competitive benefits package, on-call allowances, and a 40-hour Mon-Fri schedule with safety-driven teamwork

Qualifications

• Experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.
• On-call duties may be required and a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and equipment across three sites.
• Install and service boilers, chillers, motors, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
• Patch holes, repair floors, and perform general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Move furniture and equipment and assist with project estimates and material requisitions.
