Job summary

The American Red Cross in Portland, ME is seeking a General Maintenance and Fleet Tech to service and repair facilities and a fleet across multiple sites. The role requires hands-on work, adherence to safety protocols, and reliable on-call availability.

Responsibilities include maintaining buildings, servicing HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, and supporting operations at the Portland Blood Center. A valid driver''s license and willingness to travel locally are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of related maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver''s license and clean DMV record.
• May have on-call duties and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair organization''s facilities and properties; perform routine tasks.
• Patch minor holes and cracks; paint structures and equipment.
• Install and service boilers, chillers, motors, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
• Move and store furniture and equipment as needed.
• Document installations and repairs per regulatory requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations in all tasks.
