Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. in Texas is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the on-site management of a home community. You will assist the Superintendent with scheduling, inspections, quality control, safety, and customer walkthroughs, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining budget and timelines.

The role requires a high school diploma, 6 months to 2 years in construction, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 2 years related construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive among sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Overtime flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily for quality and schedule adherence.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Verify home completion before homeowner walkthroughs and sign-off.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and ensure satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors and costs.
• Enforce site safety and cleanliness standards.
• Support schedule and budget to deliver quality on time.
• Provide excellent customer service during all phases of construction.
