Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc., America's Builder, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent with managing the community job site and ensuring quality construction and customer service.

You will help schedule and supervise subcontractors, maintain standards, and support safety programs on site. Responsibilities include inspecting homes, coordinating inspections, overseeing walkthroughs with homeowners, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget while upholding DR Horton’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among construction sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to assure the quality of workmanship and schedule alignment.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing sign-off.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and satisfaction walks.
• Aid Superintendent to ensure subcontractors are managed with quality, safety, scheduling and cost control.
• Enforce the site safety program and subcontractor compliance.
• Enforce DR Horton cleanliness standards on sites.
• Assist Superintendent in managing construction materials to prevent damage and theft.
• Support the construction schedule and deliver quality on time and within budget.
• Provide a superior level of customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge in building codes, materials, terminology and scheduling.
• In absence of Superintendent, maintain schedules, policies, guidelines.
• Conduct business professionally to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit.
• Ability to work overtime and extra hours as needed.
