Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent with managing a home construction community site.

You will help schedule and supervise subcontractors, uphold quality standards, manage costs, conduct homeowner walkthroughs, inspections, and ensure safety compliance throughout the project. The role requires strong communication, the ability to read plans, and proficiency with MS Office and DRH Construction apps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 2 years of related construction experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive among sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Self‑sufficient with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact with customers and all levels of management.
• Ability to use DRH Construction apps on mobile devices and laptops.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect homes daily to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Review completed homes before homeowner walk-through and close.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walkthroughs.
• Assist in managing subcontractors for quality, safety, schedule and cost.
• Enforce site safety programs and compliance with standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of communities and jobsites.
• Assist in material management to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
• Support construction schedule to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service throughout construction.
• Develop relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Build knowledge of codes, materials, and scheduling.
• Take on duties in absence of the Superintendent.
