Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in managing a homebuilding community site and to provide excellent customer service throughout construction.

The role covers scheduling, supervising subcontractors, maintaining quality, and ensuring safety compliance across daily operations. The candidate will assist in walking inspections, coordinating with inspectors, and addressing homeowner walk-through items.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to drive among sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to ensure quality and adherence to plans and production schedule.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and final pre-close walks to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors and ensuring safety and cost control.
• Enforce safety standards and site cleanliness; manage materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
• Support construction schedule to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service throughout construction and post-closing.
• Develop positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners; maintain knowledge of building codes and scheduling.
