Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project/Field Manager to develop and execute comprehensive job plans for commercial projects in Utah. You will coordinate plans with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, review plans, procure resources, and resolve issues with architects, owners, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.

You will monitor progress, manage labor costs, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across multiple phases of construction for successful project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities with construction and concrete placement principles.
• Ability to proactively manage personnel issues.
• Good organizational skills and quick information processing.
• Two to three years of prior field experience in commercial construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop job plan including schedule, access, manpower, and building needs.
• Procure tools, labor and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve issues.
• Meet with the General Superintendent for ongoing training and development.
• Communicate progress to supervisors, craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
• Manage workforce allocation and costs; adjust schedules as needed.
• Move personnel between projects to maximize resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and company procedures.
