Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of commercial construction projects in Sandy, Utah. You will help prepare budgets, schedules, and plans, and assist in negotiating subcontracts and coordinating with the project team.

You will maintain owner relations, monitor costs and timelines, ensure safety and quality, and contribute to successful close-out and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Commercial Construction.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills; clear grammar and syntax.
• Thorough understanding of construction processes, laws, codes and design requirements.
• Strong ethics, organization, and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, management, and execution of construction projects.
• Prepare project estimates, budgets, and unit cost reports.
• Develop project management plans and schedules with the project team.
• Negotiate subcontracts and manage change orders and costs.
• Manage procurement, payments, and lien releases in line with contracts.
• Ensure quality, safety, and risk management plans are followed.
• Coordinate meetings, document project progress, and liaise with owners.
