Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to assist in planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects in Utah. You may handle one or more projects, ensuring quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability while nurturing customer relationships.

Responsibilities include assisting with estimates, budgets, schedules, and coordination of subcontractors; participating in value engineering; and supporting project team in planning and closeout activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Commercial Construction.
• Has a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills by expressing ideas clearly and effectively.
• Knows commercial construction processes thoroughly.
• Understands construction laws and practices.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes.
• Maintains Layton ethics, conduct, and policies.
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, management, and execution of construction projects.
• Prepares project budgets and cost reports; supports estimate prep.
• Develops project management plan with the team.
• Participates in value engineering and preconstruction planning.
• Coordinates subcontractor negotiations and change orders.
• Monitors costs, safety, quality, and schedule with the superintendent.
• Maintains owner relations and coordinates closeout procedures.
• Supports monthly job cost reviews and client pay requests.
