Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a qualified Superintendent to manage day-to-day site operations, including scheduling, procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. The role supervises direct labor and oversees contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

The candidate will collaborate with the Project Manager on look-ahead schedules, pre-construction meetings, and coordinating with subcontractors and clients. Strong communication, planning, and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Has written and verbal communication skills: expresses ideas clearly and effectively; uses proper grammar and syntax. (Basic Spanish preferred)
• Demonstrates knowledge of construction processes and blueprints
• Strong administrative and coordination abilities

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Inform all parties on construction progress and issues; coordinate with subs and clients.
• Resolve complaints with supervision and labor representatives; coordinate with engineers and suppliers.
• Inspect ongoing work for conformance to specifications and schedules; manage costs and progress.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager.
• Ensure safety, policy, and quality standards are maintained.
