Job summary

Layton Construction in Utah seeks a Construction Superintendent to develop and manage detailed job plans for assigned projects. You will coordinate schedules, manpower, and materials while liaising with architects, owners, and the project team to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

The role requires a Bachelor's in construction management or related field and 3 years of commercial construction experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial construction.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Has strong problem solving skills and the ability to manage personnel issues.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Develop job plan including schedule, access, manpower, and building requirements.
• Procure tools, labor and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve job issues.
• Meet with General Superintendent for training and development.
• Communicate construction issues and progress to supervisory personnel and clients.
• Manage project based on progress reports, materials used and costs.
• Move personnel between projects to maximize resources.
• Terminate underperforming craft personnel per policy.
