Job summary

Burlington is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.

You should be able to work a flexible schedule, stand for long periods, and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers. Training on shortage reduction programs and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills to foster productive business relationships.
• Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and exits to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and loud, friendly greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring safety and security standards.
• Support shortages reduction programs and train associates on processes.
