Job summary

El Pollo Loco in El Monte, CA is seeking a Shift Leader to manage daily operations during assigned shifts and assist the General Manager when needed. You will oversee opening/closing, inventory, customer service, and safety compliance while guiding a team to deliver fast, friendly experiences.

You’ll train crew members, adjust staffing for demand, monitor food production, and ensure adherence to EPL SPECS and health codes. Competitive pay and growth opportunities accompany a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be certified on EPL SPECS positions or have 1+ years of supervisory experience.
• Pass EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) after hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures and security.
• Coordinate crew tasks for setup, food prep and cleaning.
• Conduct inventory checks and manage deliveries.
• Ensure customer service targets and health/safety standards are met.
• Prioritize tasks, adjust staffing, and monitor food production.
• Train team members on new products and procedures.
• Handle cash, deposits, and maintain compliance on shift.
