Job summary

HMSHost in Kenner, LA is hiring a Shift Manager I to support branch management in operating QSR or similar restaurant operations. You will supervise daily activities, ensure cleanliness, staffing, and adherence to policies, while assisting the AGM/GM in hiring decisions and shift coverage.

This exempt role requires 2+ years in food & beverage, 6 months supervisory experience, strong cash handling and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 2 years in food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service.
• Requires minimum 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or production kitchen.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse with customers.
• Ability to work shifts during various operating days and hours each week, including openings and closings.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists per company policies.
• Supervises day-to-day activities of associates within a defined unit.
• Participates in interview process and provides input on hiring and promotions to GM.
• Assigns tasks, prepares schedules, ensures shifts are covered.
• Monitors mandated rest breaks and meal periods for associates.
• Maintains clean, stocked, and visually appealing display areas.
• Ensures equipment is in good working order and handles cash according to policies.
• Monitors health and safety procedures and reports safety concerns to the GM.
• Performs Health and Safety activities as specified in the Manager’s Guide.
• Places unit orders, receives goods, and processes invoices.
• Keeps current contact information for all associates.
