Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead and manage operations and staff during assigned shifts, ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to standards.

This role requires shift supervision, staffing, opening/closing duties, and enforcing safety and labor laws, with a focus on cost-control and quality service. You will train and coach team members, resolve issues, and support daily restaurant performance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a restaurant shift without supervision.
• At least six months of restaurant management or one year of retail management.
• General knowledge of restaurant/retail operations and policies.
• Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and safety rules.
• Effective verbal and written communication; strong leadership and time management.

Responsibilities

• Train, manage, coach, and assign staff during shifts.
• Lead shift operations to deliver an optimal guest experience.
• Manage staffing levels and scheduling during shift.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Escalate guest and employee issues as needed.
• Monitor food, labor, and inventory for cost-control and quality.
• Ensure compliance with policies and laws; maintain records.
• Perform all shift station duties as required.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards; regular duties.
• Show up with regular attendance.
