Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking a Shift Leader to lead a shift by managing and developing associates, ensuring outstanding product quality and customer service while controlling costs. This role reports to the General Manager/Assistant Manager and is nonexempt.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of supervisory experience, a high school diploma, ability to work 40 hours per week, and a Food Safety Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong communication with customers and team.
• Ability to train and coach others while upholding standards.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week including opening/closing duties.
• Must pass a Food Safety Certification course (ServSafe or equivalent) as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift by managing and developing associates to execute outstanding product quality and customer service.
• Follow Potbelly policies; maintain safety procedures and labor standards.
• Open, transition, and close shifts; manage line and delegate duties.
• Control food costs, labor, waste, and cash on the shift; count drawers.
• Promote sales and ensure guests leave happy with great service.
