Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is hiring a Shift Leader to supervise team members, manage shift tasks, and ensure quality and service standards in a busy restaurant environment. You’ll lead staff, support customer needs, and help control costs while maintaining safety and adherence to company policies.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of supervisory experience in food service or retail, strong communication skills, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in restaurant or retail.
• Must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy problem-solving and adapt to a bustling kitchen.
• Able to stand 8–9 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assigning tasks and providing feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and back-of-house standards met.
• Count drawers and handle cash procedures; prepare finished products.
• Maintain health and safety standards; restock lines and clean areas.
• Operate cash register and handle customer issues; perform other duties.
