Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team, ensure quality products, and deliver outstanding customer service. You’ll lead shifts, manage associates, and drive sales while controlling costs and maintaining safety standards.

The role requires at least 1 year of supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to stand long hours in a lively kitchen. Applicants must be 18+ and pass a Food Safety Certification.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• You must be able to stand 8–9 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts and assign tasks effectively.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and back-of-house standards are met.
• Manage cash handling procedures and balance drawers.
• Prepare quality finished products and maintain health and safety standards.
• Restock the line and keep the dining area clean and organized.
• Handle customer questions and resolve complaints professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.
