Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a friendly, outgoing Shift Leader to run shifts, develop associates, ensure product quality, and manage costs in a fast-paced environment. Must meet food safety requirements and be at least 18 years old. Experience in restaurant or retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• You meet all Food Safety requirements within your state. You must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy problem-solving.
• Able to work in a bustling kitchen environment; knife skills are a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Able to stand/walk 8-9 hours; able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, including efficient task assignment and feedback.
• Ensure all security procedures are followed.
• Ensure back-of-house procedural standards are met.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream) efficiently.
• Adhere to health and safety standards for food and cleanliness.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash handling.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
