Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to supervise a fast-paced restaurant team. You will lead shifts, train associates, and ensure top-tier product quality and customer service while managing costs.

Requirements include 1 year of supervisory experience, 18+ years old, and successful completion of Food Safety Certification. You will work in Illinois or Texas locations and support a welcoming Potbelly culture with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ required.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in restaurant/retail.
• Must pass Food Safety Certification (IL needs within 30 days).
• Customer-first mindset; thrive in fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen; knife skills a plus.
• Must be able to stand 8–9 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and assign tasks while giving feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed.
• Maintain back-of-house procedural standards.
• Count drawers and handle cash accurately.
• Prepare finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.).
• Comply with health and safety standards.
• Restock food line and coolers.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash.
• Handle customer complaints effectively.
• Other duties as assigned.
