Job summary

Caribou Coffee is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee daily operations and lead the team on shift. This role ensures brand standards, product quality, cleanliness, and guest connections are upheld throughout the shift.

You will coach teammates, manage day-to-day tasks, handle responsibilities like deposits and inventory, and ensure a smooth hand-off to the next shift. Flexible availability supports business needs and guest demand.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a leadership role, or properly trained and approved to take on Shift Leader responsibilities.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Shift Leaders are expected to maintain flexible availability to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of every Team Member responsibility with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Leads shifts with energy, keeping the team engaged and on track.
• Optimizes product sales while managing waste and maintaining a welcoming coffeehouse environment.
• Knows deployment for the day and communicates roles to keep the shift moving.
• Reads team needs, delegates priorities, and guides tasks accordingly.
• Owns the shift and ensures a smooth hand-off to the next team.
• Ensures SOPs and Caribou standards for quality, cash handling, and safety are followed.
• Coaches and trains the team on responsibilities, product knowledge, promotions, and recipe prep.
• Performs administrative tasks with integrity, including deposits, inventory, and orders.
• Develops Team Members with in-the-moment feedback and coaching.
• Brings Caribou's Core Values to life: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love.
• Acts as Manager on Duty, staying calm under pressure and making sound decisions.
