Job summary

Caribou Coffee is seeking a Shift Leader to guide store operations and guest experiences with energy and ownership. You will lead the team, ensure brand standards, manage safety and readiness, and communicate clearly on the floor to keep shifts running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months in a leadership role or trained to assume Shift Leader duties.
• Flexible availability to work varying days/times as business needs change.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of every Team Member responsibility with confidence, enthusiasm, and excellence.
• Leads shifts with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen—keeping the team engaged, energy up, and the shift on track.
• Optimizes product sales while managing waste and maintaining an inviting, well-executed coffeehouse environment.
• Knows the day's deployment and roles, communicating clearly on the floor to keep the shift moving.
• Reads team needs, anticipates priorities, and delegates objectives and tasks accordingly.
• Takes ownership of the current shift and sets up a smooth hand-off for the next shift.
• Ensures SOPs are followed and upholds standards for quality, cash handling, and store safety.
• Coaches and trains the team in the moment on responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotions.
• Performs administrative tasks with integrity, including deposits, inventory, and orders.
• Actively develops Team Members with coaching and feedback in real time.
• Brings Core Values to life: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love.
• Owns decision-making as Manager on Duty, staying resilient under pressure.
