Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a friendly Shift Leader to guide a fast-paced team and deliver great food and service. You will manage shifts, ensure safety standards, and control costs while developing associates and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Requires 18+, 1+ year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting, and a valid Food Safety Certification. Benefits include insurance, parental leave, and retirement plans, with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred.
• Meet all Food Safety requirements and obtain Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members on shifts, assign tasks, and provide feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and back-of-house standards are met.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Prepare finished products efficiently (sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.).
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
• Restock lines and maintain cold/storage areas.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and balance cash as required.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
