Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a Shift Leader to manage a fast-paced, friendly team and deliver high-quality product and service. Earn between $14.75 and $15.25 per hour plus digital tips, with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include leading shifts, ensuring safety and sanitation, managing cash, and maintaining guest satisfaction. Candidates must be 18+, with supervisory experience and a Food Safety Certification; apply by 11/20/2026.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in food service or retail.
• Must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills are a plus.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus.
• Ability to manage major allergens (peanuts, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
• Able to stand/walk 8–9 hours.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Illinois applicants must pass food safety certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead team on shifts, assign tasks and provide feedback.
• Ensure security procedures are followed.
• Maintain back-of-house procedural standards.
• Count drawers and balance cash handling.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, etc. efficiently.
• Follow health and safety standards for food and cleanliness.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils.
• Operate cash register and balance cash.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
