Description
Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.
Primary Responsibilities
The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:
- Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensuring crew members are actively working at their stations, managing workflow, and reassigning duties as needed.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly, using good judgment for customer credits and documenting decisions appropriately.
- Meet guest needs by ensuring timely food preparation, accurate delivery times, proper order verification, and courteous guest interactions.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including proper glove use, cleanliness, and proper food storage.
- Ensure crew members follow uniform and safety guidelines, including proper footwear and hair restraints.
- Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and documenting unusual events.
- Ensure safety and security of personnel, guests, and assets, including securing the premises and controlling access after hours.
- Assist with administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and record-keeping.
- Support in training and developing crew members.

- In-depth knowledge of operational procedures.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Comfort with workplace technology and POS systems.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to manage and correct crew performance.
Experience/Education & Certification/Licenses
- Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
- Possibility of requiring a Food Handler’s permit, Foodservice Sanitation Certification, or other permits based on local laws.
- Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance; driving record must meet company standards.
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and perform tasks standing, walking, lifting, and carrying for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, water, and liquids; frequent hand washing and operation of kitchen equipment.
