Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties represent the majority of the role but are not exhaustive:

1. Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensure crew actively works at their stations, regulate workflow, and support labor goals.
2. Resolve guest concerns in person or via phone, document decisions for audits.
3. Meet guest needs by ensuring timely food prep, accurate delivery times, proper order verification, and courteous guest interactions.
4. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, restroom cleanliness, surface disinfection, proper food storage, and floor safety.
5. Verify crew uniform compliance and proper hair restraint, ensure non-slip footwear.
6. Perform shift tasks like cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and document anomalies.
7. Ensure safety and security of crew, guests, products, and cash, including locking doors, setting alarms, and restricting after-hours access.
8. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting.
9. Assist in training and developing crew members.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication, leadership, guest relations, teamwork, and knowledge of operational procedures.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, workplace technology, POS systems, basic math, and crew management skills.

Experience/Education & Certifications:

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test.
• Possibly require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, and a valid driver’s license with appropriate insurance.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force, perform standing, walking, and other physical activities, with stamina for extended shifts.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment, with exposure to heat, humidity, and water.

Tools and Equipment

• Various kitchen and office equipment including calculators, cash registers, ovens, and computers.
