Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:

• Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensure crew members are actively working, regulate workflow, and support labor goals by adjusting crew levels.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly, determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions for audits.
• Meet guest needs by managing food prep, delivery times, order verification, table clearing, greeting, and thanking guests.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, restroom cleanliness, surface disinfection, proper food storage, and floor safety.
• Ensure crew members follow uniform and safety guidelines, including proper attire and footwear.
• Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and documenting unusual events.
• Ensure safety and security of staff, guests, products, and cash, including locking doors, setting alarms, and restricting after-hours access.
• Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting as assigned.
• Assist in training and developing crew members.

Experience/Education & Certifications

• Must pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
• Possibly require Food Handler’s permit, Foodservice Sanitation Certification, or other permits/licenses based on local laws.
• Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and perform duties standing, walking, and handling tasks for extended periods.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and water. Operating kitchen equipment is routine.
