Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties represent the majority of the role but are not exhaustive:

1. Ensure adherence to restaurant performance standards, supervise crew activities, and support labor goals.
2. Resolve guest concerns promptly, determine when customer credit is necessary, and document decisions for audits.
3. Meet guest needs by managing food prep, delivery times, order verification, table cleaning, guest greetings, and farewells.
4. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, restroom cleanliness, surface disinfection, proper food storage, and floor safety.
5. Verify crew uniform compliance and proper hair restraint, ensure non-slip footwear usage.
6. Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, end-of-shift activities, and documenting unusual events.
7. Ensure safety and security of personnel, guests, products, and cash, including locking doors, setting alarms, and securing valuables.
8. Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting.
9. Assist in training and developing crew members.

Experience/Education & Certifications

• Pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
• May require Food Handler’s permit, Sanitation Certification, or other permits/licenses per local laws.
• Preferred valid driver’s license with insurance, meeting company standards.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds, perform standing work, and handle physical activities like reaching, climbing, and lifting.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment, with exposure to heat, humidity, and wet conditions. Frequent hand washing and operation of kitchen equipment.

Tools and Equipment

• Includes adding machines, calculators, cash registers, ovens, and other kitchen and office equipment.
