Description

Position Summary: Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. They do not have a minimum hour requirement.

Primary Responsibilities

The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:

1. Adhere to restaurant performance standards, manage workflow, and reassign crew as needed.
2. Resolve guest concerns and document decisions for audits.
3. Meet guest needs by ensuring timely service and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
4. Ensure crew compliance with uniform and safety guidelines.
5. Perform shift tasks such as cash handling, deposits, and end-of-shift activities.
6. Maintain safety and security of all personnel and assets.
7. Assist with administrative tasks and staff training.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication, leadership, and guest relations skills.
• Teamwork and operational knowledge.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and workplace technology.
• Basic math skills and ability to manage staff.

Experience/Education & Certification:

• Pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test.
• Possess or obtain required permits/licenses, e.g., Food Handler’s permit.
• Valid driver’s license with appropriate insurance preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert force up to 50 lbs, perform standing, walking, and other physical activities.
• Work may involve long shifts and split shifts.

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor environment with exposure to temperature variations and occasional extreme heat.
• Frequent handwashing and operation of kitchen equipment.
