Position Summary
Shift Leaders provide direct supervision and ensure all crew members work efficiently and effectively during their shift. Shift Leaders do not have a minimum hour requirement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adhere to restaurant performance standards, ensuring crew members are actively working at their stations, regulating workflow, and supporting labor goals.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly, using good judgment to determine if customer credit is necessary, and document decisions for audits.
- Meet guest needs by managing food preparation, delivery times, order verification, table sanitation, guest greeting, and farewell activities.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including glove use, restroom cleanliness, surface disinfection, proper food storage, and floor safety.
- Ensure crew compliance with uniform and safety guidelines, including proper attire and footwear.
- Perform shift tasks such as cashing out drivers and servers, cash counts, deposits, and end-of-shift activities, documenting anomalies as needed.
- Ensure safety and security of personnel, guests, products, and cash, including locking doors, setting alarms, and restricting after-hours access.
- Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, ordering, inventory, and record-keeping.
- Assist in training and developing crew members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and guest relations skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of operational procedures and safety regulations.
- Comfort with workplace technology and basic math skills.
- Ability to manage and correct crew performance.
Experience/Education & Certification
- Pass the Mazzio’s Comp 1 Test before managing a shift.
- Possess or obtain required permits/licenses such as Food Handler’s permit.
- Preferred: valid driver’s license with insurance, and a good driving record.
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
- Work involves standing, walking, and performing duties over extended shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Requires physical activities like reaching, climbing, stooping, and handling.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and water.
- Use of kitchen equipment and tools.
