Job summary

Everglades Equipment Group in Florida seeks a Service Department Manager to oversee operations, grow profitable service labor sales and control expenses, and engage staff. Reports to Corporate Service Manager/Site Manager; supervises service clerks, technicians, shop foreman and staff.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, reviewing orders, and maintaining tools and equipment. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to extend hours and weekends as needed,

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in Service Department operations.
• Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
• Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
• Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
• Assists with the development and training of service personnel and may complete performance reviews of service staff
• Communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
• Monitors service sales on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and profit goals
• Participates in the development and execution of the Corporate Service Marketing Plan
• Coordinates customer clinics, field days and related promotional events
• Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
• Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
• Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
• Manages and coordinates training for all Service personnel
• May assist the Corporate Service Manager in developing processes and procedures and to develop and follow an annual Service Department budget
