Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the servicing of company and customer equipment in a timely and effective manner. This role involves managing repairs, scheduling, parts ordering, and staff training within a fast-growing rental operation.

The position emphasizes safety, detailed record-keeping, and coordination with vendors to ensure equipment readiness and compliance. On-site responsibilities include supervising a team and maintaining service quality across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Extensive repair and maintenance experience with self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Knowledge of work planning, scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Experience in maintenance and repair issue analysis.
• Proven planning and management capabilities.
• Proficient computer skills and data reporting.
• Experience with inventory management and parts control.

Responsibilities

• Manage repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment, organize yard readiness.
• Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs.
• Order parts to maintain adequate supplies and stock levels.
• Provide training and guidance to staff mechanics.
• Coordinate with vendors to learn maintenance requirements for new equipment.
• Evaluate equipment status after repairs and safety checks.
• Document equipment status before and after rental and update records.
• Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promote safety awareness and perform quality checks.
• Create, update, close and bill work orders; file warranty claims promptly.
• Order, return parts and manage parts inventory; report on fleet status and service records.
