Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to lead the servicing of company and customer equipment, ensuring timely repairs and maintenance. This role emphasizes scheduling, parts management, and vendor coordination to keep the fleet available for rental.

You will train staff mechanics, manage service records, and promote safety across the shop. Excellent organizational and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Extensive repair and maintenance experience for self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Planning and management experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Experience with reporting systems and documentation.
• Experience in inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Manages repair and maintenance of company-owned and customer equipment (yard organization).
• Prepares work schedules and handles service calls to meet customer needs and keep equipment available.
• Orders parts to maintain adequate supplies.
• Provides training and assistance to staff mechanics.
• Coordinates with equipment vendors on maintenance requirements for new inventory.
• Evaluates equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
• Documents equipment status before and after rental.
• Handles customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promotes safety awareness and performs quality control checks.
• Updates and maintains service records; creates, closes and bills work orders.
• Files warranty claims promptly and accurately.
• Commission new equipment and manage parts inventory.
• Dispose of solid and hazardous waste according to policy.
• Generates reports on fleet status, service records, open work orders, and finances.
