Job summary

United Rentals in Baton Rouge is seeking a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance operation, hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians, and improve efficiency and customer satisfaction through proper maintenance and repair.

You will work with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location, oversee R&M, P&L, and budgeting, set performance metrics, and coach staff while promoting a safety-first culture across all activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; trade-school degree a plus; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Extensive Equipment Fleet Maintenance and leadership experience.
• 5 years’ service and maintenance experience and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L.
• Strong motivational and leadership skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time and quality standards.
• Staff location based on skills and workload.
• Responsible for R&M, P&L and related costs/budget.
• Lead and measure service and maintenance performance metrics.
• Oversee parts department activities for optimal customer service and cost control.
• Evaluate performance and provide training and coaching.
• Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership and accountability.
