Job summary

Estes Express is seeking an experienced Service Center Operations Supervisor in Salt Lake City, UT. You will lead clerical staff, drive KPI results, and coordinate payroll and HR processes within a busy LTL environment.

Responsibilities include hiring and coaching, resolving billing and customer issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and company policies. You will work with payroll, benefits, and workers' compensation teams to support staff and operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience; Bachelor degree preferred
• 2 years office management / supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in transportation (LTL) industry required
• Must have strong leadership skills including ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees
• Team building and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience in billing, collections, tracing and OS&D a plus
• MS Office and AS400 skills preferred
• Must have a strong work ethic and good problem solving skills
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs.
• Must comply with company policies and interact well with others
• Must work independently or in a team
• Must manage tight time constraints in a high volume environment
• Read and interpret safety rules and procedures with high concentration
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Lead clerical and staff, set targets and monitor performance
• Manage KPI attainment for the service center
• Oversee payroll and driver pay, and process payroll changes
• Coordinate vacation and personal/sick day approvals
• Resolve freight billing and reporting issues
• Advise and support office personnel on customer care issues
• Coordinate with Payroll, Benefits and Workers' Comp departments
• Schedule tasks for clerical staff and ensure compliance with policies
• Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions
• Oversee HazMat processes and documentation as needed
• Order office supplies for the service center
• Research and resolve claims
• Supervise clerical staff across multiple service centers
• Maintain regular attendance and adapt to high-priority tasks
• Adhere to safety rules and government regulations
• Collaborate with teams to meet deadlines
