Job summary

Soho House & Co. in Chicago is seeking a Server Captain to supervise service during events and regular dining, educate guests on menu items and allergies, and uphold Soho House Service Standards.

The Server plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and coordinating with FOH and BOH staff. You will collaborate with FOH/BOH, enter orders into POS and ensure a polished, elevated dining experience for members and guests.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years of leadership experience on the service floor.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments while solving problems under pressure.
• Hospitable, approachable and passionate about customer service; respectful to colleagues and guests.
• Demonstrated competency with the training program and Club School.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to take direction, work in a team and autonomously.
• Tips certified and POS knowledge

Responsibilities

• Support operations and events, and report back to management on staff performance and service.
• Collaborate with F&B leaders to onboard new servers and ensure breaks; create systems to improve efficiency.
• Build professional relationships with coworkers and management; complete training checklists.
• Elevate dining with menu knowledge and discuss specials to drive sales with top-tier service.
• Communicate allergies and potential red flags to management and Executive Chef.
• Complete end-of-shift checkout reports and have them approved by management.
• Follow health, safety and company policies and procedures; uphold standards.
• Accommodate special requests and propose options that fit business needs.
• Ensure proper plating and timing; assist runners and service staff with tickets.
• Keep server alley and bar area clean and stocked; polish ware.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
