Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a Supervisor Workers’ Comp Claims to lead a team of claims professionals across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on performance, quality, and exceptional customer service within a remote-based setup, with preference for Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, or Anchorage proximity.

The ideal candidate has extensive workers’ compensation claims handling experience and prior supervisory success, with knowledge of core state laws and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• BS/BA college degree preferred.
• 8+ years of Workers Compensation claims adjusting experience with increasing responsibility and prior supervisory experience.
• 3+ years claims leadership experience with a proven track record for success and making an impact.
• In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulations in core states; willingness to learn and obtain licensure as needed.
• Knowledge of Department of Insurance (DOI), NCCI, State rules and regulations pertaining to workers’ compensation.
• Ability to research, analyze, and make sound recommendations relating to claims support.
• Ability to analyze complex administrative problems and propose creative solutions.
• Represent the team and Division effectively in meetings, including presentations.
• Past leadership experience in developing professional employees.
• Ability to manage organizational change and lead in a team-based environment.
• Collaborative work across multi-functional teams and senior management.
• Customer service orientation with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of workers’ compensation claims professionals; drive performance, accountability, quality claims management, and customer service.
• Lead claims adjusters across experience levels and administrative staff; partner with regional team supporting the Southwest.
• Ensure high-level claims handling to comply with regulatory guidelines, timelines, and results.
• Communicate across the department to align goals, quality assurance, and key initiatives.
• Hire, develop, coach, and retain staff to ensure optimal performance and results.
• Provide leadership and career development to staff for succession planning.
• Partner with other claim leaders to balance workloads and resources.
• Maintain quality of work, data accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance.
• Conduct QA reviews and provide coaching based on results.
• Investigate and implement process improvements to enhance workflow and efficiency.
• Represent division in projects and committees as needed.
