Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience adjudicating workers' compensation claims in the SC and VA jurisdictions.
• Bachelor's degree; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• SC license required at start of assignment.
• Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate highly complex indemnity workers' compensation claims with potential major impact.
• Solve difficult problems requiring broad understanding of related issues.
• Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
• Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
• Analyze forms, policies, client instructions to determine coverage and losses.
• Coordinate with parties to move cases toward timely, favorable resolutions.
• Prepare reports and maintain file documentation; apply creative solutions for optimal outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with insureds, claimants, and others.
