Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Windows desktop developer to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of flagship native applications across Windows platforms. You will drive accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility while collaborating with product designers, QA, and engineers.

The role emphasizes ownership of features end-to-end, mentoring, and shaping the Windows roadmap in a distributed, office-less environment. Strong C#/WinUI/XAML skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK, WinUI or similar, C#, XAML; ideally with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record designing, building, and shipping production-ready desktop apps with reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs and inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading or async.
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring engineers, code reviews and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration, user-centric mindset for polished UX.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications.
• Define best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts: validate UI accessibility support and focus management.
• Collaborate with designers, UX researchers, QA and stakeholders to shape feature roadmap.
• Take ownership of full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance issues, memory leaks, and rendering problems.
