Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of native Windows desktop applications. You will work on Windows App SDK and WinUI in C# with XAML, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and cross-version compatibility across the Windows platform.

You will collaborate with product designers, QA and other engineers to shape the Windows product roadmaps, mentor teammates, and drive architectural decisions for scalable, reliable software used by millions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI (C#, XAML)
• Strong understanding of Windows app architecture and interop between managed and native code
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with reliability and performance
• Experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software
• Excellent fundamentals in OOP, design patterns, data structures, and multithreading

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase
• Drive accessibility efforts across the UI and controls, ensuring keyboard navigation and screen-reader support
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders on feature planning and long-term roadmap
• Identify and diagnose complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and cross-version compatibility issues
