Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to design, build, and ship high‑quality desktop apps across Windows platforms. You will lead architecture, enforce best practices, and drive accessibility enhancements while collaborating with design, QA, and product teams.

You will mentor engineers, own feature lifecycles, and optimize performance for a fast, reliable user experience. This is a remote, distributed role with impact on millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; optional native code experience.
• Deep understanding of Windows app architecture, interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with performance and reliability.
• Strong accessibility knowledge (UI Automation) for inclusive software.
• Excellent fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory mgmt, threading.
• Experience leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps.
• Enforce best practices for architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts across UI controls and navigation.
• Collaborate with designers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmaps.
• Own full feature lifecycle from conception to release and maintenance.
• Diagnose complex bugs and optimize rendering and memory usage.
