Job summary

Speechify is seeking a seasoned Windows desktop application engineer to define architecture and ship production-ready desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and C++ where needed. You will own UI, performance, accessibility, and cross-version compatibility for our native Windows product.

Collaborate with product designers, QA, and other engineers to shape long-term roadmaps, mentor teammates, and lead feature areas end-to-end from conception through release.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK and WinUI
• Strong understanding of interop between .NET and native code
• Proven track record shipping production-ready desktop apps
• Experience with accessibility APIs on Windows
• Strong OOP, design patterns, data structures, and multi-threading

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps
• Enforce best practices for performance, memory, and cross-version compatibility
• Drive accessibility efforts for UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and engineers on UI/UX and roadmap
• Own full feature lifecycle from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, memory leaks, rendering issues
