Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Windows desktop expert to lead the design and development of native apps across Windows using the Windows App SDK and WinUI. You will own features end-to-end, emphasizing reliability, performance, and accessibility for millions of users.

You will collaborate with product designers, researchers, and QA, mentoring engineers and shaping the long-term roadmap for the Windows platform in a fully distributed, remote work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK/WinUI and C#/XAML.
• Deep knowledge of interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with performance and reliability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive design.
• Excellent fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms.
• Experience leading design, mentoring, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• User-centric mindset for polished, intuitive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and possibly C++.
• Define and enforce best practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase.
• Drive accessibility efforts and ensure UI controls, keyboard navigation, screen readers support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Take ownership of full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and compatibility issues.
