Job summary

Zurich E&S is seeking an experienced UA Manager to join our Casualty Wholesale team. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement across Atlanta, GA, Scottsdale, AZ, Rocky Hill, CT or NYC, with in-office requirement three days per week and occasional travel to other UA Associate offices.

You will lead a team of 7-10 direct reports, drive performance, and advance underwriting excellence. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or related areas, or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess and evaluate underwriting processes to implement technical standards, controls, practices and procedures.
• Follow up with producers to discuss status of new business, renewals, and renewals in process.
• Perform customer service and account management tasks, including billing, policy changes, and coverage questions.
• Participate in key account business relationships with Underwriters.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and development plans for staff.
• Make staffing decisions and mentor staff to deliver outstanding client service.
• Build underwriting skills through cross-training and learning across workflows.
• Lead underwriting team huddles and meetings and build strong cross-area relationships.
• Assist to onboard and train Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
