Job summary

Zurich E&S is seeking an experienced UA Manager to lead the Casualty Wholesale team. The role is based in Atlanta, Scottsdale, Rocky Hill or NYC with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence three days weekly.

You will guide 7-10 direct reports, drive underwriting discipline, and partner with managers to optimize performance across offices. Travel to UA Associate offices is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 4+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 6+ years in Insurance/Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess and evaluate underwriting processes to implement standards, controls and procedures.
• Follow up with producers to discuss status of new business, renewals and renewals in process.
• Perform customer service and account management, resolving billing or policy coverage questions.
• Participate in key account relationships in person or via teleconference with Underwriters.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and develop robust staff development plans.
• Make staffing decisions and motivate staff to deliver outstanding client service.
• Build insurance operations and underwriting skills through cross-training.
• Lead Underwriting team huddles and meetings and foster cross-team relationships.
• Onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
