Job summary

Zurich E&S is seeking an experienced UA Manager to lead the Casualty Wholesale team. The role can be based in Atlanta, Scottsdale, Rocky Hill or NYC with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence three days per week.

You will guide a team of 7–10 and partner with leadership to drive operational performance, staffing, and client service excellence across the underwriting function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4+ years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess and evaluate underwriting processes to implement standards, controls, practices and procedures, maintaining underwriting disciplines and identifying opportunities for improvements.
• Follow up with producers to discuss status of new business, renewals, and renewals in process and develop appropriate actions.
• Perform customer service and account management tasks, including billing questions and policy changes.
• Participate in key account business relationships in person or via teleconference with Underwriters.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and development plans for staff to meet growth goals.
• Make staffing decisions, delegate tasks, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding client service.
• Build underwriting skills and knowledge through cross-training and learning multiple workflows.
• Lead Underwriting team huddles and meetings and build strong cross-business relationships.
• Onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
